About PAS

The Philanthropic Advisory Service (PAS), a core program of the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Foundation, provides donors and potential donors with an impartial source for information on nationally soliciting charitable organizations and for advice on sound giving practices.

It reports on national charities generating the most inquiries and determines if the subject charity meets the 23 voluntary CBBB Standards for Charitable Solicitations.

Recently, the CBBB Foundation initiated the process for a revision of the CBBB charity standards. A Discussion Document has been created to encourage public and charity input about various charity accountability issues being considered for this revision. For additional information, please see our Discussion Document.
