Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure Statement Notice

We have a companywide program to address the Year 2000 challenge as further detailed below.  We understand the serious nature of the Year 2000 challenge that faces us all and want to assure you that steps are in place to minimize the risk of the Year 2000 bug.

Homestore.com, Inc. -- operator of REALTOR.com, HomeBuilder.com, SpringStreet.com, and CommercialSource.com -- started a program in 1998 to identify, address and minimize the impact of the Year 2000 problem.  The problem generally arises when software has been written to use only two digits to designate the year.  Thus, on Jan. 1, 2000, computers may not be able to correctly process date values, creating potentially incorrect results or other computer and system malfunctions.

Each Homestore.com business unit has taken an inventory of its automated business systems and applications, network and computer systems, and testing procedures, analyzing their risk for Year 2000 failure.  Where necessary and appropriate, we have created and are implementing remediation plans to make them Year 2000 compliant.  Such remediation may include upgrading existing software packages, implementing new Year 2000 compliant systems, or repairing existing software.

In addition, Homestore.com has been contacting its providers, vendors and suppliers of systems and applications to obtain information regarding their status and intent with regard to Year 2000 compliance.  We have also been looking very closely at our own product lines for Year 2000 compliance and have notified our customers regarding plans to upgrade the software.  We have been prioritizing systems and infrastructure based on Homestore.com's continued ability to conduct business.  Those systems that impact customers are receiving higher priority than less critical applications.

Homestore.com understands the nature of our customers' concern, since virtually every business is currently confronted with this issue.  Homestore.com is a relatively new company, and we are taking the same precaution as established companies who have a significantly larger legacy with which to deal.

Our goal is to achieve a seamless transition into the next millennium resulting in uninterrupted business operations and service to our customers.  Homestore.com has devoted, and will continue to devote, considerable time and energy to this matter.
