Multi-purpose Stadium & Transportation Facility
Work is complete on the multi-purpose stadium located on 42 acres of school-owned property on South Kimball Avenue near the extension of Kimball and Continental Avenues. The project includes a new transportation facility complete with washing and maintenance bays, training rooms, offices and parking for the district’s bus fleet. The stadium is just north of the transportation facility and seats 7,500 spectators. School officials voted to install an artificial turf that reduces the chance of injury and still allows the stadium to be used for multiple purposes. The general contractor for these two facilities was Charter Builders. The stadium opened on September 7, 2001, with more than 8,000 people in attendance. The Dragons defeated the Haltom  Buffalos 45-6 in the stadium opener.
