The City
of Wylie offers beautiful parks with wonderful amenities
including baseball fields, basketball and volleyball courts,
playgrounds, pavilions with picnic tables and BBQ grills. To
reserve the fields or facilities please contact the Parks and
Recreation Department at 972-442-7588.
The City of Wylie hosts an
active Seniors Group for seniors adults ages 55 and older.
Activities include games, exercise, and special events. The
Seniors meet at the Bart Peddicord Community Center at 100 W. Oak near
beautiful downtown Wylie.
The Bart Peddicord Community
Center can be rented by residents for birthday parties, anniversaries
and special events. The facility is located at 100 W. Oak Street
and is equipped with lots of space including a kitchen.
The City of Wylie enjoys a
diverse program for annual and seasonal events. Baseball,
softball, football and soccer is organized by the Wylie Sports
Association at 972-442-5021. The Parks & Recreation Department sponsors many
special events throughout the year including the July Jubilee, Chili Cookoff,
Clean-up/Green-up, the Summer Wylie Wave Youth Program and the Christmas
Tree Lighting in December.
