Program 
Mission:
Promote recreation through active, passive, and educational activities, while at the same time offering a supervised and safe environment.
Who? Kids going into the 3rd through 6th grades for the 2001-02 school year. Residents of the City of Wylie or attendees of the  W.I.S.D. schools. The program is limited to 75 children (10 spots are reserved for children in need of financial assistance).
What? Summer youth day camp. The program will focus on activities such as freeplay basketball, games, swimming, arts/crafts, service projects, and field trips. Parents will be provided a weekly schedule of activities. The activities will promote physical fitness, develop motor skills, build self-esteem, develop character, promote education, and good citizenship.
Where? Wylie Junior High School, 516 Hilltop, Wylie, TX  75098.
When? The program will begin June 4, 2001 and end July 27, 2001. There will be no program Wednesday, July 4, 2000. The program will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Registration will begin on March 5.  Applications can be picked up at the Smith Library or printed off online and mailed in with a check to City Hall, Attn:  R. Diaz.
Why? Give kids going into the 3rd through 6th grades activities to do for the summer.  Begin a trend of new recreation programs for the citizens of Wylie.
How? The program will cost $50 per week with a $75 activity fee. The first week's fee and activity fee will be needed to register. The weekly fee will need to be paid by cash, check, or money order. Fees are due on the Monday of each week of the program.
Registration Procedures
  • Registration for the program will begin March 5 and run through May 25 at the Smith Public Library (800 Thomas) during regular business hours.
  • Forms may be picked up at the Smith Library or printed off the city website for mail in registration (beginning March 5, 2001).
  • Registration for the program will be on first come first received basis. All those registrations received after the initial 75 kids will be put on a waiting list.
  • Those wanting financial aid assistance for the program will need to complete a registration form and include a copy of financial aid documentation. Financial aid documentation is a copy of the notification letter from WISD as to acceptance into the free/reduced lunch program or copy of WIC or Lone Star Card.

forms - Application and the Medical Waiver.  Please print off and fill out ALL forms and mail them along with the registration fee of $125 for the first week and activities fee combined.  Place will not be reserved without the Registration Fee.

A number of snack vending machines are electrically operated. There are snack vending machines that are see-through or have fronts which are glass-made. Various snack vending machines can only dispense as little as six or ten types of snacks or it can sell a wide range of snack and beverage choices.
