Talk on DISD voting districts delayed

Dallas school trustees on Wednesday postponed a discussion on preliminary drafts of redrawn voting districts until late next week, at the soonest.

Trustees said they needed time to review four proposed maps of the nine voting districts. School board President Roxan Staff said trustees would meet individually with the consultant they hired to prepare the proposals.

Trustees plan to adopt new voting districts by June. The voting boundaries will be redrawn based on 2000 census figures.
