METRO, hosted by New 8 Anchor John McCaa every Sunday night at 11:15pm, is a high-energy news magazine celebrating African-American life looking at individuals trying to affect change in the lives of African-Americans and the happenings in the black community worldwide.

Family First is a "news heavy" campaign, with frequent news reports, series, in-depth special assignments, and documentaries showing people and programs which are helping families grow stronger.

La Vida, meaning The Life, is Dallas/Fort Worth's only locally-produced, fast-paced high-energy weekly half-hour news magazine, dedicated to the social, cultural and political issues and contributions of Hispanics. La Vida is hosted by News 8 Reporter Anna Martinez.

For two decades, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) has featured Wednesday's Child reports each week on newscasts, the goal — placing children into good homes across 19 counties in North Texas. Wednesday's Child has helped hundreds of foster children find new families.
