University of North Texas
The University of North Texas (UNT) offers a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) through the School of Community Service. The MPA program is accredited by the National Association of
Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. Students enrolled in the program must complete 42
hours including a six-hour internship. Resources available to students include an Intercultural
Office that provides programming, general services, and retention services. Placement services
are provided through the UNT Placement Office and an alumni network. UNT also has an alumni
advisory group that meets to provide ssistance to UNT in its placement efforts. Ethnic minority
students may be eligible to enter the program under a special admission category.

University of Texas at Arlington
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) offers three Masters level degrees through its Institute of Urban Studies: Master of City and Regional Planning (CIRP), Master of Arts in Urban Affairs,
and the Master of Public Administration (MPA). The City and Regional Planning program is
accredited by the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Association of the Collegiate
Schools of Planning. It requires 48 hours of graduate work, which includes practical work
experience with an agency. The Urban and Regional Affairs program requires 42 hours with an
optional field experience. The MPA program is accredited by the National Association of Schools
and Public Affairs and Administration. The program requires 42-45 hours of graduate work,
including (if required) a 3-hour internship. UTA provides placement services through the
Placement Office as well as through the internal clearinghouse at the Institute. Minority support
and retention are offered through the Office of Minority Student Services.

University of Texas at Dallas
The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) offers a Masters in Public Affairs through the School of Social Sciences. The Masters curriculum emphasizes the development, implementation and evaluation of public policies. Students must complete 42 hours of core courses, elective courses, and an internship. Students may choose between the Public Management, Policy Analysis, or Applied Technology tracks. UTD provides a Career Planning & Placement Office for its students’ use. Resources available to students include the Special Services office as well as different minority student organizations.
