Regional 9-1-1 Emergency Number Program



Passage of HB 911 in 1987 requested Texas' regional planning councils (COGs) to undertake 9-1-1 planning and implementation activities in behalf of their local governments. After two years of planning, coordinating system design, and general preparation, implementation of Enhanced 9-1-1 was completed in January 1992. In total, thirteen countywide and five municipal systems were turned on during the period June 1991 through January 1992. These systems include:

Collin County (excluding Cities of Plano & Wylie)
Dallas County (Cities of Balch Springs, Cockrell Hill, Sachse, Seagoville, Wilmer)
Erath County
Ellis County (excluding City of Ennis)
Hood County
Hunt County
Johnson County
Kaufman County
Navarro County
Palo Pinto County
Parker County
Rockwall County
Somervell County
Wise County


Administration of the Regional 9-1-1 Emergency Number Program continues with on-going public education and training, database coordination, system enhancements and meetings with local representatives.

A number of snack vending machines are electrically operated. There are snack vending machines that are see-through or have fronts which are glass-made. Various snack vending machines can only dispense as little as six or ten types of snacks or it can sell a wide range of snack and beverage choices.
