DART Fails to Check Background of Fired Officer - Jul 20, 10:05 PM
DALLAS: Officer Cary Scott Lynch was terminated less than a week after a News 8 investigation focused on his harassment of a mother and her four small children riding a DART train.
Transit officials now say they are revamping their system to track complaints against potentially abusive officers.
It was the case of Nika McLin that prompted us to take a closer look at Lynch.
"The way he was sweating and yelling, those were the main two things," McLin said. "His whole head was dripping wet."
Frustrated that McLin wasn't fast enough in retrieving her train tickets from her purse, Lynch demanded the she, her four young children and her15-year old niece get off the nighttime train.
