March is Celebrate Wylie Arts Month with special programs featuring local writers, musicians and artists.  Come celebrate the Wylie Arts with us and these fine performers.  For more information please call the library at 972-442-7566.

Judy Truesdell
    
Judy Truesdell Mecca is the featured writer and comedian on March 6th.  She has written three children's play books published by Incentive Publications and two books that are part of the American Girl series.  Her newest book will be released this spring.

Lynne Thornton is a local musician and teacher at Plano ISD, will present "The Sound of Strings".  A fun and entertaining program the entire family will enjoy.

Dave Eden
David Eden, local artist and pastor, will present a program on cartooning.  He is a sign and mural artiest with murals in Olde City Park, and Birmingham, Dodd and Lovejoy schools.  He is also a published cartoonist and songwriter.

"Ramblin' Rose" Anderson will entertain children with comedy, magic and ventriloquism.  She is a member of the North American Ventriloquist Association, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and the fellowship of Christian Magicians.

Grace Morrison, R2B2 Puppets,  will present a fun and entertaining puppet show in the cabaret style with music, songs and dancing.  Puppets aren't just for kids, they are for everyone!

Read-Aloud!  The library will host a Read-Aloud and we invite each of you to share a favorite poem or excerpt from a story.  The program will be held from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Reading times will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.  Please call or email Tricia Smith, Children's Programming Coordinator, at 442-7566 or no later than April 2nd and schedule a time to read and share with the Citizens of Wylie.  Please invite your family and friends to join us for the special evening at the library.

Young Writer's Workshop
Young Writers Workshop:  Would you like to write a children's book and have a copy of it placed in the Smith Public Library?  Now is your chance!  Karen Morrell is an accomplished, award winning author.  She writes both fiction and non-fiction, has conducted numerous workshops, and is active in Romance Writers of American.  

She is offering the Young Writer's Workshop at the Smith Public Library for a lucky 15 students in Grades 6-8.  Registration is between March 12 - April 20 on a first come first serve basis.  You must be able to commit to the following dates and times to participate:

4/26     -  7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
4/28     -  9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
5/03     -  7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn from a published author.  Karen and her family reside in Plano.

A number of snack vending machines are electrically operated. There are snack vending machines that are see-through or have fronts which are glass-made. Various snack vending machines can only dispense as little as six or ten types of snacks or it can sell a wide range of snack and beverage choices.
