Hot bite: Pasand

04/07/2001

Curry favors

Pasand (Three 1/2 stars ) in Irving is a year old, with a near-elegant black and white décor and deco-style lighting fixtures.

What to eat: Both south and north Indian dishes are represented on the menu and in the daily lunch buffet. Our buffet visit yielded a tasty boneless chicken curry and delicious goat. A vegetarian offering described as "baby root" was a spicy sauté of starchy-sweet vegetable similar to parsnips, so tasty we went back for seconds.

Price: Menu entrees $6.50 to $12.95; buffet $6.95-$7.95

Details: 2600 N. Belt Line, Irving; 972-594-0693; plus original Richardson location
