Easter activities

The Association of Texas Professional Educators and the Irving Special Activities Advisory Council are holding their 23rd annual Easter egg hunt Saturday at Heritage Park in downtown Irving. The following is the schedule: ages 11 and 12, 9 a.m.; ages 9 and 10, 9:30 a.m.; ages 7 and 8, 10 a.m.; ages 5 and 6, 10:30 a.m.; ages 3 and 4, 11 a.m.; and ages 1 and 2, 11:30 a.m. A grand prize for each age group is a $50 savings bond.

The Easter bunny is at the Irving mall through Saturday. Each visitor receives a coloring book.

Beta Eta Master talk

Beta Eta Master Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 8 p.m. Monday at 609 W. Redbud Drive in Hurst. Speakers Marcet Balcom and Jerrie Pomroy will talk about famous and outstanding women. For more information, call 817-268-0954.

Opry show

The Irving Opry will present the Blue Plate Specials from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 at the door. The Opry is at 126 E. Irving Blvd.

Neighborhood meeting

The Barton Estates Neighborhood Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Barton Elementary School, 2931 Conflans Road. All residents and business owners in the area are invited to attend.

Garden and Arts Club

The Irving Garden and Arts Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at 906 Senter Road. Nancy Alexander will review It Was On Fire When I Laid Down On It by Robert Fulghum.

Golf tournament

The Irving Symphony Orchestra is holding its 16th annual golf tournament starting at 8:30 a.m. April 18 at Las Colinas Country Club. The registration fee is $150 per player, and the fee for a hole sponsor is $300, which includes special benefits. The money raised benefits the Irving Symphony Orchestra concert series and music education programs for Irving youth. For more information, call 972-831-8818.

Genealogy Society

The Irving Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. April 16 at the Irving Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. The group meets the third Monday of each month, and visitors are welcome. For more information, call 972-255-7519.

City of Irving news

• The Irving Sister Cities Board meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Chamber of Commerce, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.

• The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce will host a French/American luncheon at noon Thursday at the Four Seasons Resort, 4150 N. MacArthur.

• The Irving Parks and Recreation Department is seeking individuals to attend a Recreation Focus Group meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lee Park Recreation Center, 3000 Pamela Drive.

• Lee Park Recreation Center is holding a free Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Thursday.
