The Joe Pool Postal Station in Oak Cliff is not accessible to disabled customers, offers poor customer service and lacks adequate parking, residents complained recently. The bags contained little things: toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs and small bottles of lotion and shampoo. But the gifts were received as if they were million-dollar prizes. Members of AMVETS of Texas Post 23 distributed the gift bags Wednesday, which was designated as national "Because We Care Day" for hospitalized veterans. Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk made the designation for the city in a proclamation. |
