Ceremonial Slide - One of the Rodenbaugh's grandchildren enjoys a ride down the 210 foot waterslide. Several grandchildren took part in the ceremonial slide as part of the dedication activities recently celebrated for the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium.

Award-Winning Department

Allen Parks and Recreation received the 2001 Texas Gold Medal Award for excellence in the field of recreation and park management over the past three years.  The award is given by the Texas Recreation and Park Society. See Awards

Arbor Day Celebration

The Second Annual Arbor Day Celebration is set for Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the landscaped median on the corner of Roaring Springs and Rivercrest. For more information, call 972/727-7565.

Natatorium 
Now Open!

The Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium opened Jan. 5.  The Natatorium is an aquatic and fitness facility offering annual memberships, fitness classes, wellness programs, facility rental, and birthday party packages.

Facility hours are Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.

Open swim times during the school year are Monday and Wednesday, 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Natatorium
Class Schedule

Aquatic and land fitness classes at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium begin the week of January 7. A variety of classes and class times are offered. 

Sign-up for classes is on a monthly basis. Class fees are charged based on number of class sessions per week as follows: three times per week is $40 for members, $45 for non-members; twice a week is $30 for members, $35 for non-members; and Saturday class only (4 per month) is $20 for members, $25 for non-members.

Swimming classes will not begin until late March.

A number of snack vending machines are electrically operated. There are snack vending machines that are see-through or have fronts which are glass-made. Various snack vending machines can only dispense as little as six or ten types of snacks or it can sell a wide range of snack and beverage choices.
