Police Ride-A-Long Program

This program is designed to allow members of our community to ride along with one of our Patrol Officers. This program provides a unique insight to what our Officers do on a daily basis. Interested persons can pick up an application form and a copy of the Rider Rules from the Administrative Offices, Monday through Friday, 8 - 5.

Neighborhood Watch

Yes, the Wylie Police Department does sponsor the Neighborhood Watch program. Many neighborhoods have already taken advantage of this valuable resource but there is always room for more. The Neighborhood Watch Program is a great way to get to know your neighbors and is an excellent avenue to express your views and opinions to the Police Department. To learn more about the Neighborhood Watch Program or to find out how to start a watch program in your neighborhood, contact the Administrative Offices, Monday through Friday, 8-5.

Directed Patrol and Park & Walk Programs

These two programs were designed to heighten the visibility of our officers in the community and to act as a crime prevention tool. Through directed patrols, the officers spend a great deal of time in our neighborhoods looking for specific problems that seem to be occurring on an on going basis. The park & walk program gets the officers out of their cars and into our business, schools, parks and other public areas to meet and talk with the people in our community. Both of these programs are conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be requested for any time by just calling the Police Department at 442-8170.

Other Programs and Services

The Wylie Police Department is constantly seeking to develop new programs and services to provide our community. If you have any ideas or suggestions, just talk to one of our officers or contact our Administrative Offices.
