| Tech basketball signees reconsidering 04/13/2001 By Chip Brown / The Dallas Morning News Westark (Ark.) College basketball coach Doc Sadler said Friday that two of his players who have signed national letter of intents to play for Texas Tech next year are considering other schools.
Forwards Jamal Holden (6-10, 12 points per game) and Billy Pharis (6-8, 12 points per game) signed their letters with former Tech coach James Dickey.
After Bob Knight took over as Tech coach, the university provided the paperwork for Pharis and Holden to consider other schools.
"Right now, they (Pharis and Holden) are talking to other coaches and taking other visits," Sadler said. "I doubt anything will happen until next week."
If Pharis and Holden choose other schools, Tech would have two more scholarships to give for next season. Knight signed three junior college players during the spring signing period that began Wednesday.
