Frogs' bounce gone after spring
FORT WORTH – TCU's first spring football workouts under new coach Gary Patterson ended with little fanfare. There was no Purple-White game with surrounding hoopla, just a final scrimmage Friday morning in front of about 60 onlookers.

But his words after the Seminoles' domination by Oklahoma in last season's national championship game were more blunt than the sport's leaders might have liked. Jimmy Johnson arrived in the NFL fresh off the University of Miami campus. He may not have known the pro game, but he certainly knew the players. Now that edge belongs to Butch Davis, who returns to the NFL after six years at the University of Miami. Davis was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns and brings with him a vault of knowledge on college players.
