Herschel Walker

Steve Hamm / DMN Hershel Walker's short but distinguished Cowboys career included an 84-yard run from scrimmage.

Herschel Walker led Georgia to the national title as a freshman in 1980; won the Heisman in 1982 and then jumped to the upstart USFL in 1983.

After the USFL folded, Walker signed with the Cowboys. He led the NFL in rushing in 1988 and was traded to Minnesota the following year for five players and six draft picks.

His 84-yard run on Dec. 14, 1986 against the Philadelphia Eagles ranks as the second-longest run from scrimmage in Cowboys history.
