Note: Speed figures are a subjective measure of performance, with the higher numbers indicating better efforts. To derive the speed figures of a horse finishing behind the leader or winner, simply deduct points according to the number of lengths the horse was beaten. At a half-mile, one length equals 4.0 points; at six furlongs, one length equals 2.5 points; at one mile or 1 1/16 miles, one length equals 2.0 points. The pace figures are based on the half-mile splits, or fractions; there are no pace figures made for turf races.
