| March 31, 2001 | Bids sent back to cities for clarifications and changes (opportunity for bid cities to make revisions) |
| June 1, 2001 | Deadline for cities to return revised and corrected bids (revised bid document returned to USOC) |
| March 2002 | Finalist cities selected for U.S. candidate city (USOC chooses three finalist cities) |
