The Department of Veterans Affairs is on schedule to meet
Year 2000 computer requirements. In a recent report to the Office of Management and Budget
(OMB), Harold Gracey, Assistant Secretary for the VA Office of Information and Technology,
commented that " ... Veterans can rest assured that VA will provide timely
benefits payments and high quality health care without interruption as we pass into the
