Year Project Office 2000

Texas State Government made a successful transition into the Year 2000.  As of March 31, 2000, agency information technology expenditures for to address the Year 2000 problem are approximately $181
million, $26 million below the original estimate of $207 million developed by IBM.   Find the complete report at the link listed above.

Statewide Strategic Plan

A Vision for the Millennium describes a broad approach to providing government information and services to the public. It proposes improved sharing of information among agencies, and defines roles for public and private sector providers. Several profiles are featured throughout the plan to describe how a variety of Texans will benefit from the vision.

Information Technology Standards for the State of Texas

A collection links to State and industry standards for government IT operations and Internet protocols.  Also contains reference to State IT recommendations.

Texas Geographic Information Council (TGIC)

The Texas Geographic Information Council is the geographic data planning and coordination group serving state and regional government agencies in the State of Texas. TGIC addresses issues concerning geographic data development, exchange, standards, and policies, as well as geographic information systems (GIS) implementation.

Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS)

The Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS), a division of the Texas Water Development Board, is the State's clearinghouse for natural resources data.

Texan 2000

TEX-AN 2000 is a comprehensive set of telecommumincations-related contracts awarded by the General Services Commission of the State of Texas.

State Technology Assessment Center (STAC)

The STAC researches new technologies in order to determine their effectiveness in state government.  The STAC conducts hands-on testing of the latest  hardware and software and examines its interoperability with existing state equipment and standards.

A number of snack vending machines are electrically operated. There are snack vending machines that are see-through or have fronts which are glass-made. Various snack vending machines can only dispense as little as six or ten types of snacks or it can sell a wide range of snack and beverage choices.
