TENNIS FACILITIES Oak Creek Tennis Center 2531 Oak Creek

Open 7 days a week, the Oak Creek Tennis Center is Carrollton's new
state-of-the-art facility located at 2531 Oak Creek Drive (just north of the
Rosemeade & Marsh Lane intersection). It houses 12 lighted tennis courts
and a pro-shop that will appeal to the recreational tennis player, as well as
the professional tennis player. Court reservations must be made 48 hours in
advance. All other court time is on a walk-in basis. Hours of operation are
Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 8:30 a.m.
to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, please

AQUATIC FACILITIES W. J.
Thomas Pool 1955 N. Perry Road
Carrollton 972-466-6376 This is a 50-meter Olympic
size pool next to Thomas Park baseball fields. The facility includes a modern
bathhouse, showers, deck, restroom, concession and covered shelter areas.
Swimming, diving and water aerobic classes are available April - August. The
pool is open Memorial Day weekend through the start of school daily from 1:00 -
8:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Weekend hours are Saturday, 10:30a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. May 1 to Memorial Day the pool is open on a
weekend schedule only from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A wading pool is also included
in this facility. Admission is $2.00 for residents and $3.50 for non-residents.
Rosemeade Swimming Complex 1334 Rosemeade Parkway
Carrollton 972-466-6399 This is a four (4) pool complex
that includes a 50 meter Olympic size pool with a 25 meter short course,
separate diving well, training pool and large wading pool.
The facility also includes a modern
bathhouse, concession area and covered shelter. Swimming, diving, and aqua
aerobic classes are available April - August. The pool is open Memorial Day
weekend through the start of school daily from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday -
Friday. Weekend hours are Saturday, 10:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00

Museum and was dedicated to the city by Mrs. Pearl Perry Gravley. Aside from
touring the museum, visitors may enjoy the passive setting designed for the
senior citizens of our city. Facilities include walking paths, park benches,
water fountain, and parking lot. Bikes and skateboards are
prohibited. |

This 12.00 acre park site was deeded to the city as a neighborhood park for the
Mill Valley addition by Joel Robuck, a developer. The city will make additional
improvements to the site as funds are available. Facilities include one lighted
tennis court and a multipurpose court for volley and basketball. |

McInnish Park and Sports Complex |

220.00 acre park of which 34 acres are leases. The 34 acre park north of Sandy
Lake contains grills and tables for picnicking, a multipurpose sportsfield for
soccer and river frontage for canoeing and fishing. A boat ramp is available
for launching boats. The sports complex which was constructed on the 186.00
acre park site south of Sandy Lake Road is open for league play in the
following sports: soccer, softball, and baseball. Facilities now include
roadways, parking lots, three concession stands, two restrooms, and eight
lighted softball fields, one lighted senior league field, three lighted soccer
fields, and one lighted high school baseball field. Other facilities include
tables for picnicking, walking paths, water activities, and playground
facilities. |

This 415 acre, 36-hole golf course is located along the Elm Fork of the Trinity
River. Facility includes a clubhouse complete with pro-shop and snack

This 2.50 acre site was donated to the city by George Underwood, Jr., in honor
of the late Mayor Tommy Standridge. This park is a passive area which a
memorial in honor of Mr. Standridge. Amenities include walking paths, lighting,
landscaping, seating, and an underground sprinkler system. No playground is
provided on this site. |

13. Josey Ranch Greenbelt Park |

This 100 acre linear greenbelt connects Thomas Park and Jimmy Porter Park west
of Josey Lane, Keller Springs Park to the east, and Mill Valley and Ward
Steenson park to the north. Development includes a 50 acre sports complex,
complete with a 3.50 acre lake with fishing pier, concession/restroom
facilities, natural area for observing birds and wildlife, hike & bike
trails, picnic facilities, playground, and parking facilities. Fifty acres east
of Josey Ln. remains undeveloped except for an 18-hole disc golf
course. |

This 3.50 acre neighborhood park site serves the northeast quadrant of the
city. Facilities include two tennis courts, picnic facilities, a playground,

15. Mary Heads Carter Park |

This 12.30 acre park is across the street from a proposed school site. The Kids
Corral Playground was constructed in 1991 by community effort. Amenities
include a paved parking area, restrooms, and a picnic pavilion that is
available to large groups on a reservation basis. Call 466-3080 for
information. The park closes at 10:30 p.m. |

residential development north of Hebron Pkwy. and east of Josey Ln.
Construction of the park was completed in fall of 1997. Amenities include
playground, walking paths, picnic tables and grills, a shelter, and drinking

This 5.40 acre park was deeded to the city by Kenny Marchant Custom Homes for a
neighborhood park. Construction was completed in fall of 1997. Amenities
include playground, walking paths, picnic tables and grills, a shelter, and

20. Elm Fork Nature Preserve |

East beyond the extension of McInnish Park Sports Complex and east of the
existing tree farm in McInnish Park This 40.28 acre site is divided into two
tracts - 18.50 acres which is city owned and 21.78 acres which is leased by the
city from Dallas County. The site has been designated as a nature area an
Interpretive Center has been constructed by volunteers. A master plan of the
site has been completed. A Texas Wildscape was developed in 1995 through a
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Grant. |
