The A.W. Perry Homestead Museum is a unique representation of Carrollton’s beginning of early American settlers who arrived in Texas to cultivate the attainable lands of the west. A founding father of Carrollton, Alexander Wilson (A.W.) Perry, was one of these pioneer settlers who established his livelihood and prosperity in the area. An impressive structure of these early settlers is this lovely homestead, a cherished landmark in Carrollton today.

In 1975, Mrs. Pearl Perry Gravley, grandaughter of A.W., and her children gave the house and 10 acres of surrounding property to the City of Carrollton for use as a museum and serene park. Shortly thereafter, The Bicentennial Commission, volunteers from the community, and descendants of the Perry family restored this exquisite home. It was designated a historic landmark by the Texas Historical Commission in 1977.

Since then, the City of Carrollton has added sidewalks, a parking lot, park benches, and landscaping for passive recreational use.
